Consider
Joining the Hong Kong, China Inline Hockey Association Now!
Dear Inline
Hockey Enthusiast,
We’d
like to invite you to be a Member of the Hong Kong, China Inline
Hockey Association (IHA). This association was sponsored by
the YMCA with a view to facilitate development of this exciting,
healthy activity of inline hockey in a systematic way that truly
contributes to the well being of each participant and the community.
We are now an independent association and look forward to helping
the sport develop in every district of our city.
Inline hockey
is quite established in some parts of the world and now really
starting to take off in Asia. For example, the YMCA hosted an
International tournament in 2001 and 2002 and plans to do so
again in November 2003. Teams are expected from Japan, Manila,
Taipei, Kaohsiung and Singapore and possibly new teams from
Europe or North America will also participate. The YMCA also
plans to host a youth age group tournament later this year.
The HK, China IHA will help with the officiating at these international
tournaments and will host a regional training event in connection
with the tournaments.
Those interested
to apply for membership simply need to complete the application
form and return it to our office. The cost is only $50 for youth
under 18 and $100 for adults and the membership is valid until
31 August 2004! Kindly make cheques payable to “Hong Kong,
China Inline Hockey Association Ltd.”
We believe
the future of the sport is bright. We desire to provide the
resource materials and training for leaders of the sport so
our players can enjoy competing both in Hong Kong and abroad.
We also understand that the inaugural Indoor Asian Games intends
to have inline hockey on its list of events and we’ll
want to be preparing teams to be part of that historic event.
Please consider
seriously and act today to join. Do feel free to contact me
or our Secretary, Chuck Allison (2268-7768), with any questions.
Sincerely,
David
